Write the future

Nike runs a pretty cool campaign WRITE THE FUTURE for the World Championship football 2010 in South Africa. The time has come for players to carve their name in history. One touch, tackle or free kick could crush a nation’s hopes or cause them to build a statue in your honour. Players like Drogba, Rooney, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo are ready to Write The Future.

You can also see what happens to star player Rooney when he doesn’t make the difference this tournament.

And, not that I’m chauvinistic or anything… but I’m missing: Kahlid Boulahrouz, Mark van Bommel, Nigel de Jong, Wesley Sneijder, Ibrahim Affelay, Robin van Persie, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Arjan Robben, Dirk Kuyt and most of all Rafael van der Vaart ;-)

Political-Campaign-time in the Netherlands

Sorry for my English readers, but this in Dutch.

Campagne tijd in Nederland. Tijd voor parodieën. Deze campagne film over TON (Trots op Nederland) moet haast wel de meest geniale grap OOIT zijn. Briljant gecaste acteurs, geweldig camerawerk, geweldige montage, geweldige audio, wat een special effects en, most of all, wat een storyline!!! Alles om een vette glimlach op je gezicht te toveren. ZO maak je een parodie op het brengen van een politieke boodschap. Geniaal hoe Rita Verdonk zichzelf persifleert als een ongelofelijke demagoog en iemand die volledig buiten dit universum leeft. Draadstaal en Jiskefet EAT YOUR HART OUT! Nee… dit is PARODIE MET HOOFDLETTERS. Zelfs Koot en Bie zouden dit niet zo briljant kunnen brengen. Hahahahahah ik heb in tijden niet zo gelachen. Dit is ECHT goed!

“Wat zeg je? … Huh? … Meen je dat? Dit is echt?”

“…. oh.”

Gelukkig maar, op deze manier houd ze zichzelf tenminste buiten de kamer.

CK augmented reality

Here’s an augmented reality web campaign of  Calvin Klein (I think it was in collaboration with GQ magazine). And I’ve tried it and it worked. It’s a little ‘blocky’ and it’s clearly a technology in progress. Watch the demo video and you get the idea. Or try it out you’re self, the website will explain you how. You also gonna need a webcam.

Grolsch v.s. Coca Cola

Dutch beer brand Grolsch has a new commercial. They organized a secret show with Dutch band Moke and Dutch DJ/composer/producer Junkie XL who lives and works in LA. From this meet Grolsch produced this commercial. It has a nice underground feel to it.

And when it comes to branding, it’s a good thing to cultivate a secondary icon like an unique bottle shape. It will separate you from the others. And it’s always good to learn from brands that have set the standard. But don’t take that to literally. The translation of the pay off is something like ‘As unique as Grolsch’. Not so much for the branding part I’m afraid.
